LUXURY SAFARI IN ZAMBIA
the destination
Zambia is a country in southern Africa landlocked between the Democratic Republic of Congo to the North, Angola to the West, Zimbabwe to the South, and Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique to the East. This country remains until today one of the most unspoiled sanctuaries in Africa, a sort of undiscovered treasure trove of the continent, where the human footprint is nowhere to be seen. Zambia is the birthplace of the walking safari.
This country is a peaceful land of largely untouched national parks, where one can feel the beating heart of Africa. If you travel to this country, you will be rewarded with an incredibly raw wilderness and a spectacular diversity of animals that wander around unfenced camps in South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, Kafue and other national parks. You can observe hippos and crocodiles on the rivers, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, lions, leopards, white rhinos, antelopes, giraffes, and wildebeests freely walking around everywhere, or the incredible annual migration of over five million bats at Kasanka. Zambia really is the ideal place to see the classic African animals.
Adventure is synonymous with Zambia, offering a haven for people that love hiking, diving, snorkelling and trekking. Go on an endurance walk to Maginga Hills which provide stunning views of the equatorial mist, or try the Victoria Falls bridge swing if you are looking for a thrill.
Nature also plays a major role in attracting visitors, and its conservation is very important to the local government. Zambia is a land of large lakes, wetlands, and famous landmarks. Indeed, it hosts the spectacular Victoria Falls plunging a misty 108 meters into the narrow Batoka Gorge, indigenously called Mosi-oa-Tunya or “Smoke that Thunders”. Many people say that the views of the Falls are even better than from the Zimbabwean side. You can even raft through the raging rapids nearby. There are 19 national parks and 34 game management areas; each park is unique and offers striking views of African wildlife.
Zambia has a strong authentic African culture; it is the perfect destination for those who like to explore beyond the beaten path, swap stories around the fire at night in Kapishya, or walk around the neighbourhoods to learn more about traditions and history from the locals.
