LUXURY SAFARI IN TANZANIA
the destination
Tanzania is located in East Africa, bordered by Uganda and Kenya to the North, Mozambique and Malawi to the South, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda (to name a few) to the West, and the Indian Ocean to the East.
A captivating culture, the Big Five game, Africa’s highest peak, tropical islands including Zanzibar, and the Ngorongoro crater: Tanzania has it all, and even more. It is the land of safaris and adventure, of incredibly diverse wildlife, and magical coastlines and Swahili ruins. A further notable highlight is the Tanzanian people, whose warm welcome and hospitality make a trip to this country most memorable.
This land’s cultures are rich, and it is the Tanzanian people with their warmth, politeness, and dignity, that make visiting Tanzania so memorable and magical. Wherever you may find yourself, you will get to know its people and history: meet Maasai warriors, spend time with semi-nomadic Barabaig people (a slowly vanishing African tribe), and experience local hospitality and the rhythms of traditional dance.
Tanzania is Africa’s visual masterpiece and a country of natural splendour and geological wonders; the ideal bush and beach destination. The continent’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, towers over the northern plains and spreads its shadow across the land. Its snow-capped summit, gracefully forested flanks and Chagga people is a sight to behold. The Indian coastline for its part is magical with tranquil islands and sleepy coastal villages: take in the sunrises’ blood red skies, swim in the crystal-clear waters, sit beneath the lush palm trees on the sugar-white beaches.
When you think of Tanzania, the first word that comes to mind is safari; and rightly so, as this country offers the finest safari experiences and wildlife shows found anywhere on the planet. There are over 40 national parks and game reserves that offer you to craft your own personalised safari and to go off the beaten tracks. Watch wildebeests as they run across the plains, followed by shimmering carpets of zebras, hippos jostling for space in muddy waterways, elephants wandering along seasonal migration routes and lions padding around your vehicle in Ngorongoro Crater.
Tanzania’s fauna is impressive and very diverse; there are representatives of 430 species and subspecies among the country’s more than four million wild animals, and over 1000 species of birds.
