SOUTH AFRICA TAILOR-MADE TRAVEL
the destination
South Africa is located at the tip of the African continent and is surrounded by two oceans: the Indian Ocean and the South Atlantic Ocean. Its neighbouring countries are Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and Swaziland to the North. The country is one of the world’s natural gems, a safari treasure nestled at the southernmost tip of the abundant African continent.
The Rainbow Nation boasts breath-taking scenery, epic coastlines, cosmopolitan cities, an abundant wildlife and lush national parks. The entire country deserves to be explored as you can pretty much see it all in just one state. Whether you are looking for a family holiday deep in the bush, a cage diving adventure with the sharks, or simply a gentle introduction to South African wine along the Garden Route, the facilities and choices available make it easy to tailor-made your ideal escape on this continent.
There are very few other countries that can compare to South Africa when it comes to breath-taking and dramatic landscapes. It boasts natural beauty, from gigantic wild flower fields to mountains, old-growth forests, and vineyards to white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters.
The country is one of the continent’s finest safari destinations counting over twenty national parks and reserves; the most famous wildlife reserve is Kruger National Park in the north-east, which covers an area of two million hectares. In addition to the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino), there is an immense range of wildlife that can be observed. There are approximately 175 endemic bird species such as the Blue Crane, the Cape Parrot, Black Oystercatcher and Cape Vulture. Furthermore, there are about 230 mammal species including a collection of impressive predators: the African Wild Dog, the Mountain Zebra, and more. Marine mammals are a major draw-card to the country thanks to its extensive shoreline. Dolphins are frequently seen frolicking along the coast and whales promise fabulous performances. The wild side of Africa is as intriguing, with species that look prehistoric such as the Geometric Tortoise, the Giant Girdled Lizard and the Knysna Spiny Reed Frog.
There is plenty to discover, and a variety of unique experiences to enjoy.
