UNITED ARAB EMIRATES LUXURY TRAVEL
the destination
The United Arab Emirates is located in Western Asia at the southeast end of the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf, bordering Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south, as well as sharing maritime borders with Qatar to the west and Iran to the North. It is modern, dynamic and is immersed in culture and history; a fascinating place where traditionalism meets modernism and technology, tightly integrated with traditional values. The UAE offers year-round good weather and is a marvellous destination for beach enthusiasts.
Dubai with its glitz and glamour is the best-known of the emirates, but all seven of them have their unique character and charm and constitute the most compelling reasons to visit the UAE as they offer unique experiences for visitors. An hour’s drive south from Dubai is Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital, which has established itself as a hub of leisure and culture. Marvel at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque – its sheer size is just overwhelming and at daylight the white marble is almost luminescent beneath the warm Arabian sun – and discover the newly opened Louvre Abu Dhabi. North of Dubai lies the emirate Sharjah, which has the popular Natural History Museum where visitors can learn about the flora and fauna of the Arabian Desert, as well as the Blue Souk known for its impressive architecture.
Continue to Fujairah, the only emirate on the East Coast whose breath-taking geography cannot be found anywhere else in the world: it offers an impeccable contrast of massive mountains and endless beaches and is ideal for people who adore the sea and enjoy snorkelling in crystal blue waters.
Ras Al Khaimah is the ideal emirate for an escape from the city with its high-end beach resorts; this northernmost region is well known for its historical ruins as well as Jazirat Al-Hamra, the city’s Ghost Town. Finally, Ajman and Umm Al-Quwain are less popular compared to their neighbors, but these two emirates have beautiful attributes: awe-inspiring beaches, the Ajman Museum providing insights into the past of this country, and the Dreamland Aqua Park, one of the world’s largest waterparks.
